5 Best Home Remedies for Straight Hair

Best Home Remedies for Straight Hair

Straight, shiny and smooth hair is almost every girl’s dream-ain’t it? There are of course many permanent straightening methods available out there in salons today, but they last only for a year. And, the bad part is that after a year, your hair becomes hard with numerous split ends. Chemicals leave their effect on you! Of course, permanent hair straightening gives you the expected results for one year. But, after one year, you will end up with even more bad conditioned hair with split and hardened ends. Well, there are some ingredients in your kitchen, which can straighten your hair, naturally and permanently. Natural remedies cause no damage to your hair. So, get ready to have shiny, healthy and straight hair at home!

5 Tips to go glossy and slick

  • Olive oil and egg: Whisk up 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil (preferably the extra-virgin variety) with a whole egg. Apply this mask to clean, dry and tangle-free hair. Pile your hair into a bun and leave it on for 30 minutes, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. Let your hair naturally dry and then brush it through to find nice straight and shiny hair!
  • Egg white and rice flour: Stir one egg’s white into 1 tablespoon of rice flour to end up in a smooth white paste. Leave this mixture on your hair for 20-30 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo+conditioner. The rice flour will help to hold your strands straight and glassy.
  • Go bananas
  • Go bananas: Prepare a smooth mash of 2 ripe bananas along with olive oil and naturally fermented curds/yogurt. Apply it to your hair from the root to tip and comb through for equal distribution of the mixture through your hair. Build up more of the mask to cover up every strand and let it soak in your hair for 20 minutes’ time. Wash off your hair now with a mild shampoo and conditioner and you’ll be left behind with glossy, healthy and straight locks of hair!
  • The Tri-herb mixture: Coconut oil, milk and lemon juice are natural straighteners. Mix up all the three (1 tablespoon of each) and pamper your hair with this mixture. Leave this natural straightener on for 40 minutes and then rinse off your hair with a mild shampoo and conditioner. This tri-herb magic will not only leave behind luxurious locks, but will also keep your hair healthy with no dandruff!
  • Coconut Milk
  • Coconut Milk: Freshly extract the milk of a coconut and apply it to your strands. Leave this on for about half an hour and wash off your hair with a regular shampoo. Naturally dry your hair and you will be left with straight strands of healthy hair.

Apart from the tips above, do follow these handy tips to possess those healthy tresses:

  • Do not blow dry your hair often
  • Use a good serum on partially damp hair once you have washed it
  • Do not use a paddle brush
  • While you are detangling your hair, first remove the tangles from the bottom of your hair and then comb through fully, so that you can prevent hair fall
  • Do not comb through wet hair
  • Do not treat your hair with too many chemicals, as these will give only temporary solutions and will spoil your natural hair in a long go
  • Do not use hot water for washing your hair. Lukewarm or cold water will do good to your hair
  • Do not over massage your scalp
  • Cover your hair from too much of moisture or humidity
  • Do not pile up or tie your hair when it not fully dry yet after a hair wash

Thus, home-made remedies will give excellent results, if followed properly and sincerely. These remedies will not only give you those sexy slick looks, but will also relax your hair shafts and smoothen out on natural curls to make your hair healthy and wavy. So, the result is a straighter, healthier, and shinier mane without having to burn your pocket!
