hair growth tips

Let’s get eggy!

Hair is made of protein and so, feeding it with more of protein is the first and foremost trick of getting to your dream. One of the best proteins that can match up to your hair’s requirements happens to be egg proteins. Stir in both the white and yellow of the egg, add in some herbal powder such as hibiscus powder etc., or choose to apply the raw form of the liquids onto your scalp.

Let it sit there for an hour or so, before you wash it out with luke warm water and a natural shampoo that will not dry out your hair. Egg hair mask is also very helpful for adding that black shine to your hair and this is what you need to do:

Stir in egg white and yellow into a bowl. Add a teaspoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of honey (if you are looking for a natural brown streak in your black hair). You can otherwise avoid honey. Beat this mixture well, apply it your hair scalp and strands. Cover with a shower cap, leave it on for an hour nearly and wash it off with water and shampoo.

Fenugreek, the mantra

Right from the olden days, fenugreek has been a mantra to hair growth, especially the black variety. Fenugreek when mixed with sour curd and applied to hair, cools down your scalp off heat and also helps in hair growth! Here’s what you can do:

Soak a teaspoon or two of fenugreek seeds in water the previous night. The next day morning, grind it along with the water into a smooth paste with no granules left out. Add in some sour curd, a teaspoon of lime juice and apply this mixture to your hair. Let it stay for a half an hour before you wash it off with plain water and a mild shampoo.

The Ayurvedic trinity

When it comes to Ayurvedic hair care, amla, aritha and shikakai are the three main ingredients that can do miracles. These ingredients will not only promote hair growth, but also keep your scalp away from excessive drying out or excessive oiliness. Dandruff and nits will also not be a problem when you use this Ayurvedic trinity for your hair. Here’s what you have to do:

Soak the three herbs – amla, aritha and shikakai overnight in water. The next day morning, boil up this water until it becomes half the amount of the original mixture. Leave it to cool down. Once it is cold, mash up all the herbs with a ladle or your hand. Filter out this extract into another bottle or vessel. This is an Ayurvedic shampoo and the most natural form of herbs’ goodness that can penetrate into your scalp.

The onion saga

Onions can not only spice up your food and recipes, but can also add that spice to your beauty factor. Using onion extracts on your scalp will stimulate hair cell growth and thus you will be gifted with a headful of black, healthy and shiny hair. Here’s how you can do it:

Grate 2-3 onions finely. Hand press or grind the juice of the grated onions. Apply this juice on to your scalp and let it sit there for at least half an hour. Wash off your hair now with plain water and mild shampoo.

The potato and egg combo

You must have seen that most of the non-veg recipes are enhanced when a combo of potatoes and eggs are added to it. Not only food, but also your head will rejoice the taste. Yes, here’s how you can pamper your scalp for hair growth.

Grate 2 potatoes and extract it for its juice. Stir it into the white and yellow of egg. Beat this mixture well before you apply it to your hair strands and scalp. Wash it off with luke warm water and a mild shampoo. In no time, you will witness healthy strands of hair growing.

The mythic oils

Ayurveda believes in the wellness of three oils that can not only promote hair growth, but are also very healthy to you. Here’s what you should do to get the wellness of these oils:

Blend in equal amounts of olive oil, coconut oil and sesame oil. Use the double heating method to heat this oil.
