Ayurvedic tips to overcome Diabetes

Diabetes is simply termed as insulin deficiency. Ayurveda stresses on regulating the flow of insulin in the body and thereby treating the crux of the problem than on just maintaining the sugar levels. Before getting into the Ayurvedic tips for regulating your insulin flow, let us learn on the types of insulin deficiency and understand how these tips will help in settling those problems.

Secreted by pancreas, insulin is the key hormone that facilitates the movement of glucose through blood to vital parts of the body like your liver, muscles and fat cells – the store houses of energy.

When this insulin becomes deficient in one’s body they are termed diabetic and the condition is called diabetes. However insulin deficiency types are segregated as Type I and II. Type I is when the body becomes incapable of producing insulin and type II is when the body by itself becomes resistant to the action of insulin.

Another type is termed gestational diabetes while the hormones fluctuate and change under pregnancy conditions and leads to a temporary diabetic condition.

These being the cases, there are many Ayurvedic medicines (ingredients) for the diabetic which have proven to be effective on the long run and for a permanent solution.

Here are those Ayurvedic tips which help in diabetes treatment according to Ayurveda:

Bitter gourd

  • Peel the bitter gourd and chop it into pieces
  • Fine grind it to a juice and filter it using a sieve
  • Drink the bitter juice on an empty stomach daily morning

Cinnamon water

  • In a litre of water add 2-3 teaspoons of cinnamon powder
  • Boil it until it shrinks to 1/3rd of the quantity
  • Keep sipping on this water throughout the day at least for 3 months

Fenugreek water

  • Soak fenugreek seeds in half a cup of water the previous night
  • The next day eat the soaked seeds and follow it up with water

Ladies finger

  • Chop 2-3 ladies fingers and soak it in water overnight
  • The next day morning eat the ladies fingers which have soaked the entire night and follow it up with the water

Neem leaves magic

  • To improve glucose tolerance, you can grab a few new leaves from the neem tree
  • Keep chewing on these leaves on an empty stomach every morning
  • Over a period of 2-4 months, you will find that your sugar levels are very much under control

All the above mentioned home remedies are to control your sugar levels and to make your body react to insulin. It will also regulate the flow of insulin from your pancreas and bring a permanent solution on being consistence with the suggestions.
