The laxative brew of Raisin and Barley

Grapes fruit, when dehydrated becomes an important member of dry fruits’ family. Through the dehydration process, 80 percent of water in grape is dried up and the ingredients also become more concentrated. This is why raisins are said to contain more ‘goodies’ than grapes.

Raisins are a good source of vitamins and minerals. Eating raisins everyday will help in meeting our body’s requirement for iron, potassium, calcium, carbohydrates, vitamin B complexes and fiber. Let us have a look at its goodness:

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Barley -1/4 cup
  • Water- 10 cups
  • Dried grapes or raisins -1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method

  • 1. Wash the Barley and add water in it.
  • 2. Cook the contents in medium flame.
  • 3. Add dried grapes or raisins.
  • 4. Continue boiling until the water reduced by half.
  • 5. Strain the liquid with the help of filter.
  • 6. Drink one cup of this brew.
